How To Spring Clean Your Entire Bathroom Using Green-Friendly Cleaning Products

If you want to start being a little more green friendly, a great place to start is your bathroom. Ditch the chemical-filled products that you usually pull out to clean your bathroom, and use the green-friendly cleaning products and tips discussed below. By switching to green-friendly products and cleaning tricks, you will reduce your exposure to harmful chemicals and reduce the amount of harmful chemicals that get into the environment through your spring cleaning efforts.

Bathroom Surfaces

To clean all the surfaces in your bathroom, such as your counter top, door, and the outside of your toilet, fill a spray bottle up with some undiluted white vinegar. Spray the undiluted white vinegar onto the surfaces in your bathroom. Allow the white vinegar to sit for a few minutes, and then wipe it away with a clean dry towel and follow up by wiping the area down with a hot, damp rag.

This will disinfect all the surfaces in your bathroom, deodorize them, and keep them clean all at the same time.

If you prefer to clean with wipes, you can also make your own natural cleaning wipes. To make your own natural cleaning wipes, take a container of baby wipes that are free of chemicals and pour rubbing alcohol into the container. This will turn the baby wipes into natural cleaning wipes that you can use to clean the surfaces in your bathroom.

Glass Surfaces

For glass surfaces in your bathroom, such as your mirrors, shower, and windows, it is really simple to make your own window clean. Mix equal parts vinegar and water together in a spray bottle, and then use the spray solution to clean your windows just like you normally would. Your glass surfaces will look just as clean without the use of so many chemicals.

Metal Surfaces

For metal surfaces in your home, such as your faucets, you are going to want to use rubbing alcohol. Soak a cotton ball in a little bit of rubbing alcohol, and then use the cotton ball to clean your metal surfaces. This will disinfect and clean your metal surfaces and also help them to shine. You may need to use a few cotton balls for all of your metal surfaces.

Hard Water Stains

If you live somewhere that gets hard water stains, you can get them out without resorting to harsh chemical cleaners. To remove the stains, apply a little lemon oil to a clean cloth, and use the cloth to polish away the water stains on your metal bathroom surfaces.

Porcelain Surfaces

For any of the porcelain surfaces in your bathroom, such as your bathtub, create a nice paste using some baking soda and a little water. Apply the paste to the area that you need to clean, let it sit, and then go back and scrub it. This should remove all the built-up dirt and grime. Then, rinse away the paste and the dirt with some warm water.

Toilet

To clean the inside of your toilet, all you need is some baking soda. After you flush the toilet, sprinkle the inside of the bowl with some baking soda. Let the baking soda sit for about ten minutes or so, and then scrub and clean the toilet like you normally would. Be sure to flush again to rinse away the baking soda ands the debris that you loosened up.

With some white vinegar, baking soda, water, rubbing alcohol, lemon oil and a few spray bottles, you should be able to easily make all the cleaners you need to effectively deep clean your bathroom this spring and keep it clean on a regular basis.

If cleaning your bathroom sounds like too huge a chore, consider hiring a company that offers green cleaning services instead.
